BPK PENABUR held Gladian Galang (a scout activity)for Junior High School level on June 15, 2021 from 7.00 am to 3.00 pm. This activity was attended by approximately 40 SMP of BPK PENABUR. Gladian Galang was routinely held onsite but due to the pandemic in this year this activity is carried out online. However, this activity can actually be implemented successfully.
SMPK PLUS Cirebon also sent a contingent to this Gladian Galang activity. The female’s team consisted of Beverly, Melka, Marla, Michelle, Paula. The male’s team consisted of Kevin, Joel, Winston, Rainhard, and Nathan. The assistant teachers are Ms. Lintang, Mr. Sunu, and Mr. Rusmin.
Surprisingly, the Male’s team was able to win first place in the Hasta Karya category.
“Initially, when there was a competition in the Gladian Galang, we asked the team to look for references and ideas, what works of art could be used or in their opinion the best ones to make were related to recycling used goods and related to appropriate technology, especially in an era like this, students like to listen to music. So starting from that inspiration, a non-electric speaker was created by the male’s team, which unexpectedly turned out to be the first place in the competition”, Mr.Sunu commented about how SMPK PLUS team winning the championship.
